Ready to customize your ride and unlock the full potential of your bike's brain? The Shimano E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app is your ultimate tool to update firmware, tweak electric shifting, and take control of your e-bike assist power program. Let’s get you connected and tuning!

🚀 Getting Started

Before we hook things up, let’s do a little quick prep work:

  • Check Your Gear: Want to make sure your components are invited to the party? You can double-check which hardware and parts are compatible by visiting the Shimano Model Compatibility List
  • Grab the App: Head over to the Google Play Store or iOS App Store on your smartphone and download the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app.
  • Create Your Account: Open the app up and register a brand new "Shimano ID" to get your user profile ready.

🔗 Connecting to Your Bike

Time to establish the link! Follow these simple steps to pair your phone to your rig:

  • Log In or Fly Solo: When you launch the app, log into your existing Shimano ID. In a mega rush to ride? You can easily bypass this by tapping the 'skip' button near the bottom of the screen.
  • Power Check: Make sure your bike is turned on and your smartphone's Bluetooth® setting is toggled on.
  • Trigger Pairing Mode: Put your bike into Bluetooth connection mode by pressing and holding its function button for 0.5 to 2 seconds.
    • On 12-speed Di2 systems: This button lives right on the rear derailleur, and the LED will flash blue.
    • On 11-speed Di2 systems: You'll find this button next to the charge port, and the LEDs will flash red and green.
  • Finish the Pair: Tap the "Register bike or power meter" button inside the app to start searching for your unit. When prompted, type in the default PassKey: 000000. Boom, you're locked in!

🎛️ Using the App & Personalizing Your Ride

Once you're inside, you can seamlessly update firmware, customize your electric shifting behavior, and personalize automatic shifting settings. Want to completely change how your motor delivers power? You can customize two distinct assist profiles (Profile 1 or Profile 2) to perfectly match your unique riding style using these two modes:

  • Basic Mode: Offers classic assist support with 3 customizable settings depending on your system setup:
    • ECO, TRAIL, and BOOST or ECO, NORMAL, and HIGH.
  • Fine Tune Mode: For the riders who want ultimate control! This allows for highly targeted assist with up to 16 customizable patterns. Within each profile, you have the power to adjust:
    • Assist character (level)
    • Max torque
    • Assist start parameters
