# Heckler 9 Battery Rattle: How to Silence the Shake!
## Is your Heckler 9 making an annoying racket on the trails? If your battery has started to rattle, it's usually a quick sign that your battery mount spacing needs adjustment. Let's get your rig dialed and whisper-quiet again!
### 🛠️ Tools You'll Need:
- Metric measuring tape
- 4mm hex wrench
- T25 wrench
- Torque wrench
- Medium-strength thread locker
### Step 1: Free the Battery
Grab your **4mm hex key** and remove the battery from the frame. Set it somewhere safe.
### Step 2: Measure the Spacing
Time to see how things line up. Bust out your **metric measuring tape** and measure the distance between the battery mounts.
- **407–409mm:** You're golden! Your battery mounts are perfectly spaced.
- **Anything else:** If the measurement is outside that window, you'll need to rework it until it hits that sweet spot.
 
### Step 3: Tweak the Upper Mount & Latch Spring
Let's dial in the upper battery mount and latch spring mechanism to lock everything down:
1. Take a good look and note the exact position of the 2 screws holding the latch spring mechanism.
2. Use your **T25 wrench** to spin those 2 screws out.
3. Apply a dab of **medium-strength thread locker** to the threads of both screws so they don't back out later.
4. Reinstall the 2 screws and use your torque wrench to tighten them to **9Nm**.
5. Remeasure the battery mount spacing one more time to confirm it stayed put.
6. Reinstall your battery.
