Fazua Ride60 System Overview
Let’s dive into the Fazua RIDE 60 system powering your Santa Cruz e-bike! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a total newbie, here’s the lowdown on how this system works.
The Heart of the System: The Drive Unit
The Drive Unit is the powerhouse that turns battery juice into pedaling support. It’s permanently installed and works with a speed sensor and magnet on the rear wheel to figure out exactly how fast you're going.
-
The Switch-Off: In the US, the motor support automatically taps out once you hit 20 mph (32 km/h). Once you drop back below that speed, the motor kicks back in.
The Brain: Control Element & Display
You’ve got two main ways to control the magic, depending on your bike model:
-
Control Hub: A combined unit that handles both settings and info.
-
Ring Control + LED Hub: Two separate pieces. Use the Ring Control to change settings and the LED Hub (usually on the top tube) to see your status.
Ride Modes (Choose Your Adventure)
-
No Support (White): All you, baby. No motor help.
-
Breeze (Green): Gentle help for maximum range.
-
River (Blue): The "just right" mode for most rides.
-
Rocket (Pink): Full power for those beastly climbs.
-
Boost Function: Need a momentary superhero surge? This gives you 450 watts for a short burst (4 seconds from a stop, 12 seconds while riding). Just press and hold the operating switch up for 2 seconds to activate it.
The Juice: Battery & Charging
Your bike features either a permanently installed battery or a removable one.
-
The Display: The LED display has 5 lights. Each light represents 20% charge.
-
Charging: You can charge through the port on the bike frame or remove the battery (if applicable) and charge it separately. Pro tip: Always charge within the recommended temperature range to keep the battery happy.
Bonus Features
-
Push Assist: If you’re walking the bike up a steep hill, this helps it roll along at up to 3.7 mph (6 km/h).
-
App Connectivity: Want to get even more custom? Connect to the FAZUA app via Bluetooth to tweak your support levels and check your battery health (SOH)
Keep it Clean (and Safe!)
-
Washing: Gently clean the exterior with a soft cloth or brush. Never use a high-pressure washer—it’s like a fire hose for your electronics.
-
Safety First: Always check that your speed sensor and magnet are aligned before you head out. If you see a Red Flashing LED, that’s a "Hard Fault"—stop riding and get it serviced!
Now get out there and enjoy the ride!
