# Seatpost Clamp & Collar Torque Specs: Don't Crush Your Post!
## Want to make sure your seatpost stays right where it belongs without turning your expensive dropper post into a pinched carbon or aluminum tube? Let's talk torque!
When it comes to tightening your seatpost clamp (or collar), the golden rule is simple: **always follow the seatpost manufacturer’s torque specifications**. Cranking it down too hard can bind the internals of a dropper post, making it sticky or slow, while under-tightening means your saddle will be sliding down mid-ride.
You can always track down these exact numbers in your specific seatpost owner's manual or on the technical support pages of the manufacturer's website. But to save you some clicking, here are the maximum torque specifications for the seatposts most commonly found on Santa Cruz and Juliana bike models:
- **OneUp Dropper V2 / V3:** Maximum of 4 Nm
- **Fox Transfer / Transfer SL:** Maximum of 5 Nm
- **SDG Tellis V2:** Maximum of 6 Nm
- **RockShox Reverb (Standard, AXS, and AXS XPLR):** Maximum of 6.7 Nm
